“Libby worked with my son beginning the summer before his Senior year. She helped guide him through a myriad of colleges and universities, but more importantly, was there to guide him through the daunting application processes. As a working parent, I truly appreciate all of her assistance in navigating what was a foreign world to me. In the end, she assisted him in getting into his top choice in Boston, to which he was offered a generous scholarship as well. Thank you, Libby!”

What People Are Saying

“Ms. Hux's guidance continues to be indispensable to my son, now well into his college career. Libby naturally combines sage counsel, uplifting encouragement, and saintly patience to help students and parents navigate what can seem like a daunting process. Beyond the college acceptances, students of Ms. Hux carry with them a pronounced sense of confidence to their new campuses.”

Edwin H., Parent: New York, NY

“My husband keeps telling people that we hired Libby for me. We never had battles over our son getting his stuff done for his apps and he actually submitted all his applications before the due dates even with us just starting with Libby in September of his sr year.”

Kim J., Parent: Los Angeles, CA

“There's quite a bit my wife, daughter, and I could say to resoundingly sing Libby's praises for all her help during our time aboard the Tilt-A-Whirl of college applicationing. But, maybe just the fact that I am a college professor of 23 years and can't even imagine having managed ANY of this daunting process without her wise and thorough counsel will help convince you to secure her services ASAP! Our experience has been nothing short of exceptional, and VERY successful. We couldn't be more pleased, and we can't recommend Libby highly enough. Simply stated, you're going to need help, so start with an experienced and caring helper who's going to be by your side and see you through the maze like a champion!

THANK YOU LIBBY!!!!”

“Ms. Hux consistently encourages both structure and a positive mindset in this mentally demanding process. She is the perfect mentor to spark a student's creativity and ambition by setting feasible, specific college application goals. (the Common App, Apply Texas, and the University of California applications.) Additionally, as a senior applying to over 20 different institutions, I frequently experienced writer's block and frustration. However, during sessions, Ms. Hux could listen to my disconnected ideas and, within a few minutes, set me back on track for a  successful, enjoyable, and overall beautiful writing journey.”

The Hux Difference

Working with me means your student always has dedicated time for the college process — even during the busiest parts of the year. The work gets done, stress stays low, and procrastination doesn’t stand a chance.

Pricing works like this: Families purchase packages of ten sessions, twenty sessions, or unlimited sessions. There are no extra fees for anything I do outside of sessions, and no limits on how many applications your student submits. One family. One fee. Need phone time or some fast answers by text? That’s all included.

Just need quick support?

Maybe you only need a one hour meeting for concentrated essay help, a financial aid overview, or simply “We don’t even know where to start!” help.

Come as you are: excited, confused, curious, or just overwhelmed. One meeting, one low rate of $229. No commitment, just straight answers.

Great for parents, students, or families; wherever you are in the planning process.

ABOUT LIBBY HUX

ABOUT LIBBY HUX

With more than 20 years of experience in college admissions and counseling, I’ve served as Director of College Counseling at independent schools in upstate New York, Los Angeles, and Arizona. I bring the insight of someone who has read thousands of applications and essays in my roles as an admissions reader at several selective colleges. I help students revise their essays not just for polished writing, but with an insider’s eye toward what really resonates with an admissions committee.

I started my career in the film and television industries (Creative Artists Agency, Virgin Records, ABC Family, and legendary director Roger Corman’s production company), and that foundation shapes how I help students today: supporting them in discovering their voice, advocating for themselves, and building valuable skills they’ll carry to college.

I’m a proud La Reina High School alumna (Thousand Oaks, California) with degrees from CalArts and Bard College.
